SPOOK/GHOST at Kingsbridge Art gathers a lively constellation of voices exploring presence, memory, and the uncanny across a wide range of contemporary media. The show brings together works by twenty-five artists whose practices oscillate between intimate gestures and bold formal statements, creating an exhibition that is at once playful and unsettling. Viewers are confronted with punctuated by ceramics with tactile, skin-like glazes; collage and assemblage that stitch found objects into fragmentary narratives; photographs that trap light and shadow into lingering, ambiguous scenes; and sculptures that insist on occupying real, physical space.

Painting and printmaking provide sustained moments of formal reflection, where layered surfaces and graphic marks converse with the tactile immediacy of clay and the sculptural weight of assembled materials. The exhibition’s curatorial thread is not stylistic uniformity but a shared interest in materiality as a way to summon histories, hauntings, and personal mythologies.

Many works use traditional fine art processes to probe contemporary anxieties: prints that repeat and distort, paintings that fold figuration into abstraction, and sculptures that both balance and threaten to topple. Together, they form an ecosystem of approaches that reward slow looking and tactile curiosity.

SPOOK/GHOST is an invitation to encounter art that refuses simple categorization. It privileges sensory experience, material intelligence, and the strange alchemy that occurs when disparate media collide. Whether rendered in glaze, ink, pigment, or shuttered light, each work contributes to a collective meditation on what lingers after absence and how the past keeps returning in visible, haptic forms. The result is a spirited, thought-provoking exhibition that lingers beyond the gallery doors.
